The PicoSearch Free Plan allows you to set a few important display
options for your Search Engine's look and feel, including background
color and font qualities. But the most important option you have in
your Free Plan will be to set your own logo! You can set any graphic up
to banner size to be the first thing your visitors will see on all of
your results pages - with no competing banner ads beneath it - so don't
miss out on this important feature!
When your account is
finalized after you have signed up, go to your Account Manager and
select 'Set Your Logo' under the Designing topic. There you will enter
the full URL to your logo or banner which must be located on your
website. You also need to enter the width and height of this graphic,
which you can get from the editor in which you made it, or usually by
right-clicking on the image for its properties. The logo can be any
size up to 500 by 100 pixels, so that includes standard banners which
are 468 by 60. As a gif or jpeg image you can make a collage of words or
pictures or both using any standard image editor. By providing a URL
back to your homepage, your logo can also be a hot link back to your
site from your search engine. Finally, you can position your banner
across the top of your search results page by choosing left, center, or
right.
