Help with PicoSearch

What's New at PicoSearch?
Reindexing Warnings if fewer pages!

PicoSearch allows you to control your account in so many ways. There is manually triggered re-indexing which can be on-line (as you watch) or off-line (we'll send you an email when it's done). Additionally, Professional and Premium Accounts get to schedule their re-indexing for automatic regular intervals. You'll want to take full advantage of these options to keep your search engine up to date with the changes of your growing website.

PicoSearch also cares about the integrity of your search account. When you re-index, intermittent internet connection problems, combined with human error on your page updates (hey, nobody's perfect!), may result in lost links and lost content for your index. In order to alert you to any and all potential problems, we have now added extensive Reindexing Warnings for when fewer pages are found than the time of your last index creation. It is part of our committment to help you track your search account as closely and accurately as possible.

If you are indexing on-line in your browser, you will be alerted to any decrease in total page numbers immediately. You will then be able to choose between keeping the old index or going with the new one just created, knowing the total page count for each.

If you are indexing off-line and PicoSearch has encountered fewer pages, you will be notified of this condition by email. The next time you enter your account manager, you will immediately be asked to choose which index to keep, as both the old and new indexes will be held in reserve. Until you decide, PicoSearch will keep the largest index active as a precaution for you.
