Divide your search engine into several different sections to be searched!
Did you have distinct sections on your website that you wished could be searched independently for different users? Have you ever wanted to tie several different search engines together into one dropdown menu, while still giving the option to search all of them simultaneously? Were you hoping to maximize your PicoSearch page allowance in some clever way, to cover all of your website projects with one PicoSearch account? Now you can do all of these things, and it's easy too!
PicoSearch Partitions are now available to all accounts in their account manager's Indexing topics. You define the names, files, and displayable titles for as many search partitions of your web collection as you prefer. PicoSearch will guide you in adding dropdown boxes to your own site, as well as generating the options for your users on your results pages. This is really awesome and useful!
Consider something like the following on your site today. Note that this example is a completely default, plain vanilla, Free account that just has the partitioning turned on to demonstrate. You will get many other options for setting logo, color, font, and controls in your own PicoSearch engine.
Here's an example for how a Partitions menu can look, to choose between "Our Site" and "FAQs" when searching the PicoSearch site itself:
