Fast incremental reindexing grabs only the files that have changed!
All PicoSearch accounts can reindex at any time, online or offline, just by pushing a manual button in the account manager. And paying accounts can set an automatic reindexing scheduler for daily, twice-weekly, weekly, or monthly reindexing (contact us if you need more than once per day).
Now for Professional and Premium accounts, PicoSearch offers incremental reindexing to be smart about fetching only the files that have changed on your website. We wanted to do this right, because accuracy is vitally important to us. PicoSearch compares the stored file information of your site to the last-modified date reported by your server. Only if it is absolutely safe to do, then PicoSearch will use the stored file version, saving you up to 60% in indexing time!
PicoSearch looks closely at many factors to make sure that all links and text are correctly re-evaluated in the context of each new incremental reindexing. And you will retain control, because at any time, you can set in your account manager's Reindexing section the option to fully reindex (no incremental backups) on the next online, offline, or scheduled reindexing. In this way you can be sure that incremental reindexing will only save you time, and will never get in your way.
