After subscribing to a PicoSearch service Plan which has indexed your site, you will
receive an email describing the 10 or so lines of HTML code for the
search box itself. You just need to paste the search box into each web
page that you want searching from - we would do it for you but we can't
change your website, only you can. And note that this is just for the
search box; all of your pages are already indexed and searchable from
your search engine.
We don't know your best way to edit your own web pages, you'll have to
figure that out. One direct method is to select view source in a
browser, edit and save that modification, and check the file into your
web account using an FTP program. Some editor systems like Frontpage
however will require that you always go through them to update your
website, so you'll have to find a way to put the PicoSearch code
directly into your pages in some HTML-view mode, and check that the
editor doesn't wreck it behind your back in some effort to be 'helpful'.
Once installed, the PicoSearch HTML code will put the standard search
box on your web site at that location in your page. You can always get
this HTML code, along with the latest tips for its usage, by selecting
'How to add a Search Box' from your Account Manager's control panel.
What's more, you will find on this page some alternative entrances for
your search engine, which you may prefer: one-click entrances which use
simple links and buttons. These may be easier for you to put onto your
website if you are using a finicky editor. We like to give you several
design options.
