You don't have to wait for the PicoSearch indexer to finish. Some
people like to watch PicoSearch as it indexes their site on-line,
because it is so fast and you get to see the documents being collected.
But if the on-line indexing is taking too long, you can stop the
indexing at any time and re-index more completely at a later date. You
may then wish to choose the off-line re-indexing option from your
Account Management control panel, so that we will send you an email when
the index is done.
On a related note, remember that you
can always check on which documents made it into your index by selecting
"View list of indexed documents" from your account as well.
You can index your site on-line or off-line, and PicoSearch is very
smart and fast. We'd love to be able to promise a maximum time to
index, but of course that depends on your server's connections and how
many pages you have. Typically, sites are indexed while-u-wait, in a
matter of minutes. Be assured though that if traffic is heavy,
PicoSearch will be careful to not flood your server with requests. This
is a vital point to realize, since your own users must not be shut out!
