Help with PicoSearch

How often is my index updated?

Your index is the snapshot of your website which is used to produce search results. It is crucial that your index be updated along with your website, since that is how your visitors will find your new pages. PicoSearch gives you total control to update your index whenever your site changes. This is especially important since many web search engines will take a month or more for your new pages to be found, so you will need PicoSearch to help your visitors find the freshest information that you have to offer.

All accounts get a Manual Reindexing button in their account manager. You can hit this button immediately after you make a change on your website. We recommend that you use the offline indexing as the quickest option. PicoSearch will email you before and after the indexing. Paying accounts also get a Most Recent Indexing Log feature to monitor the progress of offline indexing.

Scheduled automatic reindexing is available as a very useful feature to all paying accounts. You can schedule your search engine to update itself at a certain hour on a monthly, weekly, daily, or twice weekly basis. This is excellent for websites that are continually updated by a working staff, so that the changes can be found on a regular schedule.
