How To Search

Basic search

Type the words you are looking for in the entry box, then click <Search>

Advanced search

You can customise your search results and reduce the number of hits by using the two dropdown menus.

Find ANY word – this will produce results that feature any of the words you have searched for

Find ALL words – this will limit your search to include all of the words in your results.

Find EXACT phrase – this will match the phrase in its entirety. The words you search for will appear together in the results

Search this site – you will search across all the pages within the EOS magazine site. Be warned, there are over 750 pages!

Search the shop – this will narrow your search to the accessory items available through the EOS magazine shop catalogue, and will not include other areas of the site.

Search EOS system – this will narrow your search to the full Canon product listing published on the EOS magazine site. This includes product specification, press releases and technologies.

Enhance your search further

Use + in front of each word that you require; use - in front of each word that you want to exclude.

Search for exact phrases by surrounding them in double quotes "..."

Boolean Expressions: use AND, OR, NOT, to form a Boolean expression; AND requires, OR allows, NOT excludes.

Use double quotes to protect the words "and", "or", "not" in a phrase.

Examples

Search: EOS camera
Finds: 'EOS' or 'camera' or both

Search: "EOS camera"
Finds: 'EOS camera'

Search: +EOS +camera
Finds: 'EOS' and 'camera'

Search:  +EOS -camera
Finds: 'EOS' but not 'camera'

Search: +EOS +"Live View'
Finds: 'EOS' and 'Live View'

Search: (canon OR eos) AND NOT speedlite
Finds: 'Canon' or 'EOS' without 'Speedlite'

Capitals

Don't worry about capitals! You can type in your search results as upper of lower case and it will still find the same results.

Spelling

Check your spellings carefully, especially if the results you want don't seem to be there.

Be specific

The more exact your search query, the better your results will be. Searching across the EOS magazine site is free and unlimited, so don't be afraid to experiment.
